Hardened Pneus Experiments_pipe geometries

in this set of experiments our assumption was to develop a system of pnumatics with expansion foam as meduim and a flexible membrane. it was assumed that the flexible membrane would be expanded with the expansion process of foam inside the membrane (which shaped like a pipe), and if we restrict the pipes end points, it might shape like an arch.

the problem was we needed a close space to make a pnumatic and at the same time we needed an open space to let the foma expand !!!!! so this contradiction led us to use plastic sheets and foam with open ends. foam expanded and fill the pipes up completely.

then we used these pipes in accumulated, connected and woven methods to see some ways of making them work together. we made this physically and digitally with different scripts.

although this system proved some great potential for us, since the plastic sheet was not flexible enough to let the foam expands uniformly, we decided to develop the system with different membranes.
